相信是因為繁殖季節，成年的鳥都有築巢繁殖的本能衝動，故事中的喜鵲、麻鷹和 黑領椋鳥都如是。
喜鵲被大嘴烏鴉趕走，麻鷹又給喜鵲嚇得患上恐懼症，黑領椋鳥因此可以乘虛而入 ，不費太多功夫便可住進了「豪宅」（以黑領椋鳥的標準來說）。
最近見到黑領椋鳥銜著食物回來放入巢中，相信正在育雛，詳情請候下回分解。

黑椋夫婦趕走了麻鷹，原來是要在巢中生兒育女，最近一星期都見到他們銜著食物 回巢。
The Black-necked Starlings drove away the Kites and started breeding. They have been bringing food back to the nest for the last week.

牠們通常都在不同時間回巢，但有時也會一起出現。
Normally they returned to the nest separately, but sometimes they would appear together.
上星期三（五月十七日）颱風「珍珠」接近本港，掛起了三號風球，大風將燈柱吹 得左搖右擺，黑椋夫婦仍然回來餵食。
Typhoon signal no. 3 was up last Wednesday (17 May). Although the post was swaying under the wind, the parents still maintained the feeding.
星期五（五月十九日）天色放晴，早上七時未到便見到夫婦倆在巢邊。
The weather became fine on Friday, and the couple was already there before 7:00 am.
今天（五月廿一日）整天下雨，甚少見到他們，早上十一時才見到一隻冒著雨回到 巢邊，不久便走了。
The rain seldom stopped today. One of the parents was seen briefly in the morning at about 11:00 am.
下午有事外出，未能觀察。黃昏六時許大雨稍為轉弱，見到一隻椋鳥回來，但是也沒有久留。
No observation was made in the afternoon until around 6:00 pm, when the rain was reduced slightly. One bird was seen again for a few minutes.
風大雨大，巢中的雛鳥相信已經濕透了，加上父母難以餵食，一定是飢寒交迫，明 天天氣仍然有雨，希望牠們能夠捱過這關吧！
The chicks must be wet through under this heavy rain and wind. They should be starving because their parents can’t feed them in such poor weather. Unfortunately it will still be rainy tomorrow. I hope they could survive this ordeal.

過去一星期差不多每天都有雨，但黑椋夫婦仍繼續回來餵食，星期三首次見到一隻 幼鳥從巢內鑽出來，總算舒了一口氣。
可是好戲還在後頭，星期五共見到三隻幼鳥！
It has rainy on most days last week. The Black-necked Starling kept retuning to feed the nest. I was relieved to see the first chick on Wednesday. But on Friday all three of them emerged from the nest!

六月廿七日到球場觀察， 一隻麻鷹在巢頂盤旋（很可能是麻鷹太太），黑椋夫婦馬上升空戒備。
I visited the playground on June 27. The Black-necked Starling scrambled to a Kite (probably Mrs. Kite) hovering above.
六月廿八日仍見到兩隻幼鳥在巢頂等親鳥餵食，但是再沒有見到老三。
On the following day, two chicks were still being fed by their parents, but there were no sign of the third.
老大和老二不時拍動翅膀，準備學飛。
The two chick exercised their wings, preparing for flight.
之後由於公務繁忙，沒有繼續觀察，到六月三日再看時已經鳥去巢空，全家飛走了 。
Observation was stopped for a few days due to my work. The nest was deserted when I checked it again on June 3.
翌日到球場實地觀察，只見一對黑椋在草地上覓食，找不到幼鳥，不肯定是否牠們 夫婦。
I visited the playground on the following day. A pair of Black-necked Starlings were foraging on the lawn, but no chicks were found. Not sure if they were the parents.
大嘴鳥鴉仍在附近守望，不知不覺中為椋鳥做了（防喜鵲的）護衛員。
The Large-billed Crows were still on watch – providing free security service (against the Magpies) for the Starlings.
林中有一隻噪鵑小姐，令週圍幾隻噪鵑先生為之神魂顫倒，大唱情歌。
A female Koel in the wood drew continuous love songs from the males in the neighbourhood.
喜鵲則照舊黃昏敘會。
And the Magpies continue their evening tradition.
六月十二日，三隻喜鵲在舊巢出現，其中一隻體形較小，似是今年出生的幼鳥，是 否跟著父母回來故居懷舊一番呢？
Three Magpies turned up at the nest on June 12. One of them appeared smaller in size – I suspect it was born this year.
六月十八日，四隻大嘴烏鴉同時出現，其中兩隻看來比較頑皮，可能也是今年出生 的。
Four Large-billed Crows also appeared on June 18. Two were rather curious and restless – again probably born this year.
鳥巢在上午還是好端端的，到下午再看時已被清除──也是時候收筆收鏡了。
The nest was still there in the morning, but gone in the afternoon – time to put away my gear for this year.

而且，麻鷹夫婦都只四年抱一，繁殖成功率很低，欸，真是傷心事...

I guess the nest removal was done by LCSD. But whether they are the authorized person / dept to remove bird nests which are protected by law.
Should the conservation committee of HKBWS send a letter to LCSD asking whether they get AFCD advice when removing the nest?
Should it be a policy of LSCD to protect bird nest in their managed sites?
The nature of this removal is very similar to the recent swift nest issue in Yuen Long. If permission is given, they should allow to do it only after breeding season.
