Organization introduction:
Founded in 1957, The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society (HKBWS) started as an ‘ornithological society’ and has developed to an environmental organization devoted to promote appreciation and conservation of wild birds through research, habitat management, environmental monitoring, policy advocacy and education. HKBWS’ goal is to protect the bird paradise where people and birds can live in harmony and nature continues to thrive. HKBWS works both locally and internationally to conserve birds and nature and is a member of Birdlife International, the East Asian-Australasian Flyway Partnership (EAAFP) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). HKBWS is a registered charitable organisation in Hong Kong under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance.
Job Description:
- Handle HR admin, payroll, MPF, and employee record/system updates.
- Maintain HR and admin policies and ensure office compliance (records, licences, insurance, safety).
- Oversee office administration and inventory management.
- Support onboarding/offboarding and liaise with staff and vendors.
- Perform other ad hoc HR/admin duties.
- Report to Deputy Director
- Work pattern: 2-3 days/week
Requirements:
- Associate Degree or above in HR, Business Admin, or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years’ HR/admin experience, preferably in NGOs or SMEs.
- Knowledge of HK Employment Ordinance and MPF regulations.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Good command of written/spoken English and Chinese.
- Detail‑minded, responsible, efficient, self‑motivated; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Recognize and support HKBWS's vision and mission.
