The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society
Organization introduction:
Founded in 1957, The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society (HKBWS) started as an ‘ornithological society’ and has developed to an environmental organization devoted to promote appreciation and conservation of wild birds through research, habitat management, environmental monitoring, conservation advocacy and education. HKBWS’ goal is to protect the bird paradise where people and birds can live in harmony and nature continues to thrive. HKBWS works both locally and internationally to conserve birds and nature and is a member of Birdlife International, the East Asian-Australasian Flyway Partnership (EAAFP) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
HKBWS is a registered charitable organisation in Hong Kong under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance.
Job Description:
- Develop, plan and execute branding and fundraising strategies, campaigns and events.
- Maintain and enhance the donation channels.
- Maintain and cultivate our donor database and improve the donor journey.
- Identify opportunities and report on branding building and fundraising progress
- Collaborate with the Communications Officer to develop compelling marketing materials, social media content, and newsletters to promote fundraising initiatives.
- Responsible for relevant administration work
- Assist in membership affairs.
- Report to Deputy Director and perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related disciplines
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience in communications, marketing, fundraising or related field. Experience in event management is an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator or Canva is an advantage.
- Strategic, creative and outgoing personality
- Experience working in NGO and interest in nature are preferred
- Recognize HKBWS’s vision and mission
